Place of Origin and Range | The Rainbow Lizard or Rainbow Whiptail is a species of lizard found in Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. It has also been introduced in Florida and has established populations there. |
Description | Most species have some degree of linear pattern. Six or seven dorsal stripes. Males have blue sides and salmon throats. Females are less colourful. Most vivid during breeding season. |

Feeding / Diet | Some of these lizards eat small amounts of fruits or vegetables, but most are entirely insectivorous. Like many reptiles, in captivity they must be provided a diet supplemented with extra calcium and a light source with a UVB radiation to reduce the risk of bone disorders. |
