Country Of Origin | Romania |
History and Background | The purebred is a Romanian part-bred Hutzel (Huzel) with infusion of draught horse blood and they are extremely rare. This breed is a slightly heavier animal, suitable for riding, draught work, and logging. It retains the toughness, economy and tractability of the Hutzel. The roan coat color some Bucovina have suggests a proportion of Ardennes blood. Which is not a surprise since Ardennes were introduced into Romania after the Second World War to regenerate local stock. |
