Description | Part of the Lizard family, their characteristics include broad, triangular heads and flattened bodies with spiny scales arranged in rows and clusters. These are found on the throat, which can be expanded when threatened, and at the back of the head. These spiny scales are used to scare off predators, yet they are not very sharp. Colouration varies. |

Accommodation | Dry desert habitat with rocks secured in place before adding substrate, branches for climbing. A hide to help regulate temperature along with a day basking spot at 80'F(27'C). Always include a dish big enough for bathing, but not big enough to drown in. |

Feeding / Diet | Eats greens, grasses, hays, alfalfa, dried lentils, dried and fresh peas, insects. |
