English Hack horse

Country Of Origin England
History and Background The English Hack is, in fact, not a breed but a horse type in England that is mainly used for riding. A well-mannered horse, the English Hack is suitable for anyone that rides with ease and confidence.
A "Hack" is a term that was used historically to refer to a horse carriage for hire. It also referred to a horse that was ridden to a hunting meet (i.e., the horse used before the rider changed for a hunter). Still others refer to the "Hack" as refined, elegant horses ridden by fashionable people.
The ideal English Hack conformation was established when the English Thoroughbred was crossbred with the Arab or a pony, the main purpose of which was to keep the height to a minimum.
Current standards, however, also require the English Hack to be comfortable and pleasurable to ride, as well as have good balance and light response to the rein.
Use Today Pleasure horse, Saddle horse
