Place of Origin Columbia, Venezuela
Origin Africana is a breed of domesticated sheep (also known as Pelona, Camura, Red African, Rojo Africana, Colombian Wooless, West African) found in Colombia and Venezuela. This breed is about the same size as the Pelibüey. The Africana is raised for their meat and is classified as a hair breed.
Purpose Meat
Characteristics They are usually brown, ranging in shade from tan to brown and cherry-red to dark red. They are very similar to the Pelibüey in size and confirmation. The breed is polled and the male is sometimes maned.
