| Place of Origin and Range | Ranges widely through the great plains states, south and northern Mexico and north to southern Canada. |
| Description | Adult specimens can have an average weight in the range of 1–1.5 kg (2.2–3.3 lb), though the heavier known specimens can attain 3.6–4.5 kg (7.9–9.9 lb). They are usually yellow in colour, with brown, white, black or sometimes reddish coloured blotching. The blotching pattern is as follows: large blotches on top, three sets of spots on the sides, and bands of black on the tail. |

| Accommodation | This snake lives in a variety of habitats including savannah, grassland, forest, and rocky hillsides. High humidity(60-80%), branches for climbing. A hide to help regulate temperature along with a day basking spot at 80'F(27'C). Always include a dish big enough for bathing and a branch as thick as the snake anchored for climbing. |
