History and Background Also called the Rhineland Heavy Draft & the Rhenish Cold Blood, the German Cold Blood horse is less than a century old and their numbers are rapidly declining.
Their bloodlines began late 19th, early 20th century and was mainly Belgian Draft with a combination of draft animals from neighboring countries.
Use Today Heavy draft, agriculture, forestry, driving
Height 16 – 17 hands (64 - 68 inches)
Colour Chestnut, grey, bay, black, roan
Characteristics Head is plain and small
Neck is short and strong
Body is compact and deep
Hindquarters are heavily muscled
Legs are short and strong with light feathering
Personality and Temperament Docile and willing
