Long Tailed Salamander

Place of Origin and Range The long-tailed salamander, or longtail salamander is a species of lungless salamander native to the Appalachian Region of the eastern United States.
Description Usually a brown- yellow colouration, with black spots and some stripes. One on the each side and the back.
Adult Size Can grow up to 8 in(20 cm)
Accommodation They are most common where water is running or trickling. They hide under various objects, such as leaves or rocks, either in or near water. Alternatively, they may enter burrows for protection. Temperature below 61'F(16'C).
Lifespan Unknown, believed to be 2 - 6 years
Feeding / Diet This salamander eats worms, insects, wax worms, crickets, and some pelleted fish foods are accepted.
