Place of Origin and Range | Marbled salamanders are found in the eastern United States, from southern New England to northern Florida, and west to Illinois and Texas. They have been found as far north as New Hampshire, though only two sightings have been reported there. |
Description | The marbled salamander is a stocky, boldly banded salamander. The bands of females tend to be grey, while those of males are more white. |

Accommodation | A semi-aquatic, gently filtered aquarium with live plants, with or without large gravel will suffice. |
Lifespan | Can live up to 25 years |
Feeding / Diet | Newts eat worms, insects, wax worms, crickets, and some pelleted fish foods are accepted. |
