Pink-Toed Tarantula

Place of Origin and Range Pink-Toed Tarantula is a species of tarantula native to South America, Costa Rica to Brazil, and the southern Caribbean. This species is sometimes called the Guyana pink-toe, Common pink-toe, or South American pink-toe.
Description The mature Pink-Toed Tarantula has a dark-coloured body and pinkish feet, hence its namesake. Juvenile specimens, however, have pinkish bodies and dark-coloured feet. Pink-Toed Tarantulas undergo a reversal in their colouration as they approach adulthood at 4–5 years.
Adult Size Can grow up to 3 in ( 7.5 cm )
Accommodation These spiders live in a woodland type habitat. They require vertical bamboo or branches for climbing. Be sure to have enough substrate to allow burrowing. A mild temperature with a basking spot at 21- 25'C (69 - 77'F). Typically they are kept in a tall tank with several inches of substrate such as peat moss or coco-husk that is kept humid.
Lifespan Can live 2 - 3 years
Feeding / Diet Its diet consists primarily of crickets meal worms and moths.
Other Considerations These tarantulas sometimes have trouble shedding because of dry habitat. Make sure to keep high humidity with moist substrate and daily misting. Do not mist the spider.
