Rough Green Snake

Place of Origin and Range	Found from New Jersey to Kansas and south to the Gulf coast. Small population also in Mexico.
Description	The Rough Green Snake is bright green above and has a yellowish belly, affording it excellent camouflage in green vegetation.
Morph Patterns Available	No
Adult Size	Can grow 2-3 feet(0.6-0.9m)
Accommodation	Woodland or shore line. Plenty of branches for climbing. Leafy plants will provide the required humidity and hides. You will always want to include a large dish for bathing and soaking in to improve shedding. Always include a day basking spot at 80'F(27'C). Along with multiple hides. Minimum 2 x 2 x 4 feet for an adult.
Lifespan	Can live 3-5 years
Feeding / Diet	Its diet consists mostly of insects like crickets and mealworms, but some snails and tree frogs are eaten as well. This snake is not a constrictor—most prey are grabbed and simply swallowed alive.
Breeding	The rough green snake breeds in spring, and sometimes again in fall. Females lay 2-14 eggs, occasionally in a communal nest shared by more than one female. Up to 75 eggs have been found in one such nest. The nest site varies: under boards, under bark in rotting stumps, in deep mulch, or under a rock. Hatchlings from spring breeding typically emerge in August or September, and are about 18–20 cm (7-8 inches) in total length.
Other Considerations	Snakes are relatively hardy low maintenance animals when kept in the correct environment, and require little day to day care other than feeding and cleaning out the tank as required. However, like all animals, they can still become sick or injured despite our best intentions to prevent this.
